Funday for kids a great success

togetherness n The day of fun and togetherness organized by the Oegstgeest chapter of the Dutch Council of Refugees on 11 June was a great success, according to Koen van Niekerk, Team Leader on behalf of the Council.

More than 40 children from a wide range of national and cultural backgrounds came together for a shot at knocking tin cans over with a ball, jumping on a bouncy castle, and watching Charley the magician perform tricks, even turning one of the children into a magician himself.

Many adults also attended, largely as chaperones for the children, but also having an opportunity to meet other parents whom they could strike up friendships worth.

Saturday’s event was perhaps the sixth or seventh organized by the Oegstgeest chapter, van Niekerk says…but Covid caused an interruption. They are hoping that it will be possible to resume normal service as from now.
